BEAUTY BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS COME TOGETHER TO PROMOTE INNER BEAUTY IN GIRLS

NEW YORK, July 12, 2010-Inner Beauty Solutions, Inc. ® has partnered with the New York Trend Newspaper, Felicity Salon, and Signature B to promote beauty from within via a Beauty Pageant for Girls to be held May 2011. The application process for girls to begin to write their essays, continue or initiate their civic engagment and more begins NOW! This pageant will not include a bathing suit competition as its Director, Ms. Darlene Aiken believes that girls are overly exposed in the wrong manner as it is.

“The Inner Beauty Solutions, Inc. ® slogan ‘You’re Beautiful On The Outside When You Recognize Your Beauty On The Inside!®’ is a slogan that we live up to and want young ladies to come to believe in” states Ms. Aiken, President/CEO of the company and Director of the pageant..

According to the Real Girls, Real Pressure: A National Report on the State of Self-Esteem study with girls between the ages of eight and 17 conducted by the Dove Self-Esteem Fund, found that, self-esteem has become a national crisis in this country. The majority of girls (seven in ten) feel they do not measure up in some way including their looks, performance in school and relationships. Most disturbing is that girls with low self-esteem are engaging in harmful and destructive behavior that can leave a lasting imprint on their lives.

The pageant is a well planned event, over three years in the making. This pageant is like none other in that it possess the Inner Beauty Solutions touch. The Inner Beauty Pageant’s theme is: I Am Beautiful. There will be two categories which boasts of scholarships and prizes exceeding $50,000.00. Additionally, there will be celebrity judges, performers, and other professionals involved in this first annual event. The Publisher of the upscale newspaper, New York Trend, Dr. Teresa Taylor Williams says she is thrilled to be a sponsor of this great event because, “it is teaching girls that their attributes are not just physical, while promoting their self-confidence and awareness of their necessity to contribute to the community.” Additionally, Mrs. Gisselle Singleton, owner of Felicity Salon which caters to the plethora of hair textures of girls (http://felicitychildrensalon.com) is also a proud sponsor and will be on hand to work with each contestant to ensure that her tresses are in place for the competition. Mr. Naquan Busby, proprietor of Signature B Nail, Fitness & Beauty Boutique (http://mysignatureb.com) says, “We look forward to being a part of this event and anything that we can do to help the self-esteem of young ladies. We’re all for it!”

“When I first heard of Darlene Aiken and Inner Beauty Solutions and how she wanted to mentor the youth I felt this was something needed. Darlene had taken my daughter under her wing, she listened to her and encouraged her dreams and goals. She was instrumental in helping her share her experiences which helped her achieve scholarships and recognition from her peers, teachers, and community. Darlene serves as a beacon of light to young people. She provides guidance, confidence, and empowerment through her dedicated and never-ending efforts and example. She has taken her blessings and accomplishments and unselfishly brought them back to young people. I pray God continue to keep and bless Darlene Aiken as she’s truly a blessing to us. It really does take a village to raise a child,” says Mrs. Regina Spencer, Parent.

Ms. Aiken is the President/CEO of the Global award winning Inner Beauty Solutions, Inc. ®, Author of the internationally selling self-esteem book for girls, How to be a Young Lady: Your Total Guide for Being the Best Possible You! , Adjunct Professor, the Long Island Editor for the upscale newspaper New York Trend.
